Tivoli Mofarrej São Paulo Presidential Suite: Latin America’s Largest

On the 22nd floor of Tivoli Mofarrej São Paulo, in Jardins, a doorway opens onto a 750 m² space. This Minor Hotels property, one of São Paulo’s most exclusive addresses, is home to Latin America’s largest Presidential Suite. It includes three bedrooms, living and dining rooms, a kitchen, an office, two cloakrooms, and a main bathroom with a jacuzzi, double shower and private sauna.

Catraca Livre visited the hotel to see the space, which was designed by Estúdio Penha. Its interiors draw on Brazilian bossa references and bring together one-off pieces by leading Brazilian designers. Earthy hues and natural materials, including linen, cotton and ceramics, feature throughout, alongside handcrafted details and exposed concrete.

The suite was created to accommodate up to six guests, although the layout also supports other purposes. It can host board meetings, executive gatherings, product launches, dinners, cocktail receptions and social celebrations. The facilities can also be adapted to suit different event formats.

Figures including Donatella Versace, Lady Gaga – who recorded a music video there – Mick Jagger, Shakira, Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson have stayed in the suite. Former presidents Cristina Kirchner of Argentina and Dilma Rousseff of Brazil have also visited the space.

Brazilian character embraces the Tivoli Mofarrej Presidential Suite

The suite’s concept pairs contemporary Brazilian design with an earthy colour palette and natural materials. Exposed concrete is also part of the interior scheme, creating a connection with the building’s architecture. Some of the furniture is made from reclaimed wood, while designs by Jader Almeida and Sérgio Rodrigues sit alongside original items from the 1950s.

The living room occupies one of the apartment’s central areas and links to the other social spaces. Its features include a raised futon, which can be used for watching television or simply taking in the movement of the city. A retractable 120-inch screen, along with integrated sound, lighting and temperature systems, completes the setting. The positioning of the windows offers 180° views across São Paulo.

This area is close to the kitchen, while the office provides a private workspace. Two cloakrooms serve the suite’s social areas. The arrangement allows guests to move between these spaces without having to go through the bedrooms.

The apartment has three bedrooms and sleeps up to six people. The main bedroom faces Trianon Park and has floor-to-ceiling windows. Natural light is one of the defining features of the room, while the furniture arrangement keeps the view central to the space.

The main bathroom brings together the accommodation’s key amenities. It includes a jacuzzi, a double rain shower and a private sauna. Forming part of the main bedroom’s layout, the area houses these facilities in one setting.

The services match the suite’s exclusive proposition. Guests are provided with a dedicated concierge and butler.

A space beyond accommodation

Its generous dimensions mean that the suite is used for more than overnight stays. Board meetings, executive gatherings, press conferences, product launches, dinners and celebrations are among the formats that can be hosted in its rooms.

Food and beverage operations are managed by the Tivoli Mofarrej team, with the option for chefs hired by the client to take part.

The suite is also one of the hotel’s venues for smaller celebrations. For weddings, it is particularly suited to mini weddings, while Tivoli Mofarrej offers other spaces for receptions of varying sizes.
