Plaza Premium Group (PPG), which specialises in integrated airport hospitality solutions and passenger services, is strengthening its position as a platform for cultural experiences through a new artistic installation in its VIP lounges at Rio de Janeiro International Airport, RIOgaleão.

The company says the initiative continues Proudly Local, its global project designed to bring together art, place and the traveller experience, turning its lounges into settings for sensory connection and reflection.

This time, PPG is presenting the exhibition “The Weave of Presence”, created by artist Neida Freitas Aboud in collaboration with Atelier Chames Bio. The display takes over the Plaza Premium Lounge International, in the restricted area of Terminal 2, inviting passengers to take a contemplative break amid the movement of the airport while connecting textile art, sustainability and Brazilian identity.

The initiative forms part of the group’s broader strategy, which has already brought other artistic interventions to lounges around the world, always aiming to enhance the passenger experience beyond conventional service. By incorporating local cultural expressions, Plaza Premium Group turns its spaces into living showcases of contemporary creativity, bringing travellers closer to authentic stories from the destinations they pass through.

At RIOgaleão, the exhibition features series including “Guanabara” and “Healing”, which examine the relationship between memory, territory and spirituality, while also engaging with themes such as environmental regeneration and the reuse of materials. The selection of the artist and curatorial concept underlines the group’s commitment to initiatives that combine aesthetics, purpose and impact.

“We believe that contemporary hospitality also lies in the ability to create deeper connections with the traveller. Art is one of the most powerful ways of doing this,” says Fernanda Lemos, Plaza Premium Group’s general manager for Latin America.

Running until the end of July, the artistic installation will also extend to other VIP lounges operated by the group at the airport, broadening the initiative’s reach and establishing the Plaza Premium Lounge as a hub for experiences that go beyond air travel.
