After taking inspiration from the Bugatti Chiron, Dreame Technology - best known for its intelligent vacuum cleaners and other household products - has once again looked to an automotive icon for its first electric SUV: the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

The new model is expected to reach the market in 2027. It will feature a 3.2-metre wheelbase, rear-hinged doors and a fully electric powertrain.

Dreame’s luxury vehicle strategy

Dreame revealed its move into the luxury automotive sector in August through two separate divisions. Dreame Automotive will concentrate on supercars, while Starry Automotive is intended for luxury SUVs. The vehicle now unveiled is the company’s second project in this field, following the Chiron-inspired sports car.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan-inspired exterior

Its exterior design makes a strong impression, with a chrome grille, LED lighting and large alloy wheels. The styling of the Dreame model’s pillars leaves little doubt about the influence of the British SUV built near Goodwood.

Thanks to its 3.2-metre wheelbase, the cabin provides enough room for the second row to consist of two genuinely individual armchairs. These seats include every feature one might expect to ensure the highest levels of luxury and comfort on board.

Electric SUV technology and powertrain

According to Car News China, Dreame’s electric SUV will use a 100 kWh battery and four independent electric motors. It will also have four-wheel steering and a chassis capable of altering its ride height and stiffness using LiDAR sensors, cameras and radar. An optional range extender may also be included in the electrical system.

When will it arrive?

Production will take place at a Berlin factory, in partnership with BNP Paribas, close to the Tesla Gigafactory. The manufacturer had previously been considering building a plant in Brandenburg. As stated above, this new luxury electric SUV is due to go on sale in 2027.

Despite its similarities to existing luxury models, Dreame aims to establish itself as a new competitor in the premium electric vehicle segment.
