Fuvest, Unicamp and Unesp: free materials for university entrance examination preparation

With the calendars for São Paulo’s main university entrance examinations now confirmed, students hoping to compete for places at the state’s public universities are beginning to step up their preparation for the tests.

Unicamp’s (State University of Campinas) first stage will take place on 18 October. This will be followed by Fuvest, which administers the selection process for USP (University of São Paulo), whose first stage is scheduled for 1 November. Unesp (São Paulo State University) will begin its entrance examination on 22 November.

Candidates therefore have roughly five months to plan their study timetable. Resources available to support this preparation include materials that examine how frequently subjects have historically appeared in the papers, helping students spot the most recurring topics in each discipline.

Free Fuvest, Unicamp and Unesp study materials

COC has made the Raio X Unicamp, Raio X Fuvest and Raio X Unesp materials available free of charge. They provide an overview of the subjects most commonly featured in the entrance examinations at the three institutions. Arranged by knowledge area, the resources are intended to help students decide what to prioritise during revision.

Analysis of São Paulo university entrance examinations

According to Renato Júdice de Andrade, COC’s educational director, the materials draw on a long-term review of papers set by São Paulo’s universities. For Fuvest, the analysis examined editions held from 2007 to 2025. The Unesp survey covered papers from 2010 to 2025, while the Unicamp review included examinations applied between 2011 and 2025.

How to use the free materials when preparing for university entrance examinations

Andrade says one of the survey’s main uses is to establish study priorities. By recognising the content that occurs most often, students can devote more time to topics that are more likely to be assessed.

The data can also serve as a diagnostic tool. Using the most recurring subjects as a guide, candidates can identify the topics they find most difficult and focus their efforts on those areas throughout their preparation.

In the educational director’s view, understanding the profile of the papers makes studying more efficient. Rather than dividing their time evenly among every subject, students can also take account of each topic’s historical frequency in the entrance examinations.
